AVIS

VINTAGE 2013 : Bright purple colour. Has a lifted red and dark berry nose with a hint of licorice and dark olives. The palate is fresh and vibrant, the fruit ripe but poised. Has firm but refined tannins on the finish. Good length and persistence. It is elegant in style.

USA - VINTAGE : 2013 Bright-Ruby. Sexy, mineral-accented aromas of ripe red berries, lavender and peppery spices show very good clarity. Silky, seamless raspberry and floral pastille flavors and nicely concentrated and sharply focused, and a hint of smokiness comes up on the black half. At once rich lively, finishing with lengering spiciness and gentle tannic grip.

Considerably more lush and expansive than the 2013, the 2012 Gigondas offers a rich mouthful of cherry and briar-tinged fruit. It's plump and supple, with savory notes of meats and earth on the finish, giving it extra appeal. It's drinking well now and should continue to do so for a least 3-4 years.

VINTAGE 2012 - The nose is aromatic, racy and offers power as well as a slight concentration. It reveals notes of crushed cassis and crushed blackberry combined with small notes of black cherry, Zan, a hint of blueberry / cornflower as well as discreet touches of toasted oak, spices and gray pepper. The palate is fruity, beautifully gourmand, well built, racy, very slightly tight, suaves, gourmand, elegant and offers a slight density, a fine fat, dynamism, a beautiful guideline, a nice acid frame, a slight concentration, a small freshness, a beautiful definition as well as a slight tension. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fleshy Bigarreau cherry, crushed cassis and small notes of crushed blackberry, crushed red fruits and blueberry associated with touches of liquorice, tobacco, garrigue, racy minerality as well as a hint of colas and black olive. Tannins are very slightly firm and discreetly grainy. Good aromatic persistence

VINTAGE 2012

Vintage 2012:

Vintage 2011

Vintage 2012- Bright ruby-red. Ripe and expressive on the nose, displaying deeply pitched black and blue fruit aromas and a hint of cracked pepper. Broad, sappy and smoky in the mouth, offering sweet blackberry and cola flavors with a hint of spicecake. The blackberry note resonates on the smooth, clinging, seemingly tannin-free finish. This assertively fruity wine would be a good ringer in a blind flight of New World Grenache-based bottlings.

vintage 2010 A classical Gigondas, that has an overall elegant, yet complex profile, the 2010 Château du Trignon (a blend of Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre, and Cinsault) offers clean, pure aromas of garrigue, wild flowers, black tea, and mineral-laced red and black fruits. Silky and polished on the palate, with a medium-bodied feel and the hallmark fine, sweet tannin of the vintage, this builds in the glass, yet always stays classy and fine. It will benefit from 1-2 years of bottle age, and shine for 7-8 years or so. (september 2012)

Vintage 2010 Bright ruby-red. A complex bouquet displays scents of fresh red berries, spicecake and underbrush. Lively and precise, offering silky raspberry and cherry flavors underscored by juicy acidity and a hint of floral pastille. Seamless and impressively persistent on the finish, which echoes the red fruit note.

vintage 2012 - (vat/casks - tasted on december 2013) dark red, purple. Has a warm, soaked fruits and garrigue make-up on the nose, a plump aroma of local richness, a strike of licorice. The palate starts on discreetly muscular, packed red fruit that delivers baked notes late on, the fruit compressed there. Very young, and quite forceful from within. Late salty notes liven it. Solid quality Gigondas. From 2016. 2026-27

Vintage 2011 - Along the same lines, quality wise, the 2011 Gigondas Chateau Du Trignon is an upfront, fruit loaded and medium-bodied effort that gives up loads of earthy dark fruit, licorice and roasted meat-like qualities. Enjoy it over the coming 4-5 years.

Vintage 2011 Deep ruby. High-pitched aromas of red berries and Asian spices. Offers ripe strawberry and raspberry flavors with bright acidity emphasizing the vivid red fruit. Gains flesh and weight with air but maintains a suave, lithe character. Approachable and emphatically fruity, finishing with nervy cut and spicy persistence.
