VINTAGE 2019 - Houchart's atypically bright flamingo-hued 2019 Côtes de Provence Rosé Tradition features scents of resinous herbs, cherries and raspberries. Medium-bodied and plump in the mouth, it's a clean, easy quaffer to gulp down over the summer.

VINTAGE 2019 - A richer style of Provençal rosé, but it works really well, with ripe watermelons, brambly berries, and sweet spice. Broader on the palate than the nose implies, this is particularly well-suited to richer, oilier fish and dishes like bouillabaisse.

VINTAGE 2019 - A self-described ‘un-put-down-able’ 90-point crowd-pleasing rosé wine that’s not only less than $18, but it’s also been named a ‘Top 100 Best Buy’, in 2018 and 2019 in Wine Enthusiast. A family-run affair, Domaine Houchart is located at the foot of Mount St. Victoire near Aix en Provence and part of the new, elevated appellation ‘St. Victoire’. Houchart Rosé is known for its out-of-this-world freshness, and is a classic Provencal blend that’s attractive, full and ripe, bursting with berry and peach notes. The vineyard is now run by CEO Florence Quiot, an inspirational woman in wine and the 13th generation of the legendary winemaking family, along with her brother, head winemaker, Jean-Baptiste. Regarding the 2019 vintage, “The aging on lees suited the 2019 year superbly and lengthened the mouth and finish” says Ms. Quiot. Cultivated from 222 acres of clay and limestone, Houchart Rosé’s special freshness comes from the unique method of harvesting, where the grapes are immediately placed in gondolas filled with CO2 gas and covered with thermal blankets, to exclude oxygen and keep the grapes cool under the hot Provençal sun.

MILLESIME 2019 Charme et sensibilité, détail et finesse de texture, avec de jolies nuances de pêche mirabelle sur le plan des flaveurs. // VINTAGE 2019 Charm and sensitivity, detail and delicacy of texture, with nice peachy and mirabel plum notes and flavors.

VINTAGE 2019 Domaine Houchart is based in the pretty hilltop village of Puyloubier near Aix-en-Provence, surrounded by garrigue and in a landscape familiar to anyone that has seen Cézanne’s Provence paintings. This has floral aromas mixed with bright strawberry fruits, more strawberry on the palate, a pleasing texture with a bit of heft, with a citrus tinged finish.

VINTAGE 2019 - The winner of the Gloria Food and Wine Rosé Test is the captivating Domaine Houchart Rosé, which has been described as follows: “ This sophisticated Côtes de Provence Rosé has verything you need from a good rosé wine, with aromas of cherry and rhubarb jam. The mouthfeel is cleanly intense and rich. The lively aftertaste has an herbal spiciness. A drink for the summer food party with cold or warm smoked salmon and new potatoes. Try it too!
