Bright ruby. Smoky cherry and blackberry aromas lifted by pungent herbs and dried flowers. Round, gently spicy dark berry flavors provide good palate coverage and are lifted by a tangy mineral quality. The spicy note repeats on the finish, which leaves a faintly tart quality behind.
Vibrant ruby. Primary dark berry and cherry skin aromas are complicated by licorice and cocoa powder. Zesty mineral nuances add welcome focus to the deep blackberry and bitter cherry flavors. Finishes with weighty black fruit compote qualities and good cling. A big boy that will need seriously rich food.
Medium ruby. Powerful red berry and musky herbs on the nose, with a bright mineral quality adding energy. Tangy redcurrant and strawberry flavors are finely etched and impressively fresh, with good mineral lift to the finish. I suspect that this will gain weight with a couple more years of aging.
Medium red. Gently spicy, red berry-dominated bouquet suggests dried lavender, anise and rose. This is awfully seductive already but at the same time attractively understated. Juicy raspberry and cherry flavors are gently firmed by silky tannins, which add subtle grip to the long, sweet finish.
Light red. Spicy, expansive cherry and redcurrant scents. Sweet red fruit flavors are given focus and by energizing acidity and fine tannins. Silky on the back end, finishing with a zesty wild strawberry note and very good length.
Deep red. Inky and deep on the nose, with powerful, earthy notes of cherry liqueur and bitter chocolate. Offers serious grip and structure, with dense bitter cherry and dark plum flavors framed by solid tannins. Finishes with roasted notes of ripe cassis and espresso, and good length.
Light gold. Ripe pear and melon aromas are lifted by white pepper and dried flowers. Fleshy apricot and honeydew flavors offer good ripeness, with gentle acid lift and a touch of warmth on the finish. This is drinking well now.
Medium ruby color. Deep, heady bouquet of ripe cherry, red plum and blackberry, complicated by dried rose and violet. Lush and velvety, with the blackberry and cassis fruit showing excellent clarity and depth. The supple, long finish is at once round, sweet and nicely focused.
